Parents Q & A

1. Why should I join the PTA?

It takes many helping hands to make our PTA programs and events run smoothly and successfully. We're sure you will find a committee that sounds interesting to you and that you will find it to be a rewarding experience.

2. How do you become a member of the PTA?

Becoming a member of the PTA is easy. Membership forms were distributed early in the school year and are also available in the main office. Simply fill out the membership form and drop it, along with your $7 dues (checks should be made payable to Albany Avenue PTA), into the green PTA box in the main office at Albany Avenue.

3. I really don't have a lot of time. Are there ways to help without committing to a specific committee?

First, you should know that there are some positions within committees that don't required a large time commitment. Find a committee that you might be interested in, and discuss the various duties needed with the committee chairperson, who will be able to answer any questions you may have.

And, yes, there are other ways to help our school. Click here for more info.

4. I’d like to volunteer for Helping Hands. Is it only for kindergarteners?

Yes, Helping Hands is a wonderful way to assist the newest members of the Albany Avenue family. The program is designed specifically for kindergarteners to help teachers get the children into a routine and aid them during center time.

5. Can I become a member of the Executive Committee?

Yes. In order to be considered for a position on the Albany Avenue PTA Executive Committee, you must have chaired at least one PTA Committee for one year.
